Summer 2018

August Adult Dynamite Drills

We will be offering 3 evening Drills in August the week before Midlands (you do not need to be playing Midlands or be on a USTA team to participate). Each evening will have a special area of focus, yet there will be plenty of live ball points and drills where you will be utilizing all shots.

  • Monday, August 13            7:30 p.m – 9:00 p.m.         Groundstrokes
  • Tuesday, August 14            7:30 p.m – 9:00 p.m.         Serves and Returns
  • Wednesday, August 15      7:30 p.m – 9:00 p.m.          Volleys

Participants will need to register for each evening separately either in person at HTRC or online.

Fees:

$16 members or $19 non-members

The deadline for each class is 48 hours prior to the start time of the drill. After the deadline, there is a $10 late fee and space is not guaranteed.


Clinics

We will provide students stroke and strategy instruction, mental toughness tips, footwork ideas and more with drills and match play Class will be divided into levels of play from beginner to advanced.

  • Session 1: June 6 – 27
  • Session 2: July 11 – August 1

Fee: $56 members or $64 non-members

Wednesdays: 7:30 p.m – 8:30 p.m.


Leagues

We offer a variety of singles and doubles leagues for men and women. Please contact rolland-ostrander@uiowa.edu for details.


Camps

We will be offering a camp this summer for adults of all levels. The camp will provide stroke and strategy instruction, footwork tips, mental toughness with fun drills and match play!

  • June 18 – 20

6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

$85 members or $95 non-members


Cardio Tennis

A fun group fitness activity featuring drills to give players of all abilities an ultimate high-energy workout. If you are looking for a great way to get in shape and burn calories, you must try cardio tennis!

We will be offering a camp this summer for adults of all levels. The camp will provide stroke and strategy instruction, footwork tips, mental toughness with fun drills and match play!

  • Mondays: 6:30 p.m – 7:30 p.m
  • Wednesdays: 6:30 p.m – 7:30 p.m
  • Fridays: 9:30 a.m – 10:30 a.m
  • Saturdays: 8:30 a.m – 9:30 a.m

No Cardio Tennis: July 21, August 11, or 18

Fees:

$9/day for members or $11/day for non-members

10 Class Series: $80.00 member, $90.00 non-member

Private Instruction

Private and semi-private instruction is an excellent setting for an individual or small group of players to work on specific skills. Private lessons are scheduled based on player, instructor, and court availability. See rates and how to schedule a private lesson here. 


Fall 2018: Session 1

All classes will cover the basic strokes and strategy with fun drills and play.

Beginner

  • September 9 – October 7 | Sundays: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Fees: $70 members or $80 non-members


Beginner/Intermediate

  • September 12 – October 10 | Wednesdays: 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Fees: $70 members or $80 non-members


Intermediate

  • September 9 – October 7 | Wednesdays: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Fees: $70 members or $80 non-members
