Part-time employment

With over 400 part-time positions, our department is one of the largest part-time employers on the University of Iowa Campus. Our goal is to provide valuable career experience for UI students while fostering their development and improving their leadership skills.

Recreational Services hires UI students for the majority of our hourly positions, however, some program areas may hire non-students or students from other institutions. The same application process applies for all hourly positions.

Working for Recreational Services is desirable by many students on campus. Peak hiring times for our department take place prior to the start of each semester so we can ensure we are fully staffed and ready to provide the services you all have come to love.   If you currently do not see an opening that matches your job desires, we encourage you to frequently visit the UI Handshake website as we will hire all throughout the year.  You can also email the supervisor directly to find out when the next hiring process make take place for that position.
