Registration Information: Pre-Registration begins on Monday, August 17 at 8:00 a.m. During Pre-Registration, captains can start their teams, and begin sending invitations to teammates to build the roster. Once official registration opens on Tuesday, August 25 at 8:00 a.m., teams that meet the minimum player requirements (four team members) can select a division to complete registration. Registration closes on Wednesday, September 2 at 11:59 p.m. Instructions on how to start a team, or how to join a team, can be found on our IMLeagues Registration Instructions page.
Sport Date and Time: During registration, teams will select the day and time block in which they want to play, based on the available options. Play begins on Tuesday, September 8.
Sport Location: Matches will take place at the Hawkeye Recreation Fields Sand Volleyball Courts. Information on how to get to the Hawkeye Recreation Fields from main campus can be found here.
Sport Format: Teams will be scheduled for six pool play matches over the course of three weeks (two matches each week), all within their selected timeframes. Matches cancelled due to inclement weather may be made up if possible. Following pool play, all teams will be placed in a single elimination tournament for their night of play. Each night's champion will advance to a bracket to compete against the champions of other nights to determine the Fall 2026 Sand Volleyball Champion.
Leagues Available: "Open" is the only league available for Sand Volleyball. An "Open" league means there are no gender requirements for teams.
Intramural Membership: Participants must have a 2026-2027 Fall and Spring Membership, a Fall 2026 Semester Membership, or a Single Game Pass in order to participate. A Single Game Pass will only allow a participant to play one time as a substitute. Memberships can be purchased here, or participants without memberships will be prompted to purchase one upon registering.
