Registration Information: Pre-Registration for all leagues/sessions begins on Monday, May 12 at 8 a.m. During Pre-Registration, captains can start their teams, and begin sending invitations to teammates to build the roster. Once official registration opens teams that meet the minimum player requirements can select a division to complete registration. Official registration for 4v4 Sand Volleyball Session 1 begins on Monday, May 19 at 8 a.m., while official registration for 4v4 Session 2 and 2v2 begin on Monday, June 23 at 8 a.m. Registration for 4v4 Session 1 closes on Tuesday, May 27 at 11:59 p.m. and registration for 4v4 Session 2 and 2v2 closes on Tuesday, July 1 at 11:59 p.m. Instructions on how to start a team, or how to join a team, can be found on our IMLeagues Registration Instructions page.
Sport Date and Time:
4v4 Session 1 - Tuesdays - Games at 6, 6:45, and 7:30 p.m.
2v2 - Wednesdays- Games at 6, 6:45, and 7:30 p.m.
4v4 Session 2 - Tuesdays - Games at 6, 6:45, and 7:30 p.m.
Sport Location: Matches will take place at the Hawkeye Recreation Fields Sand Volleyball Courts. The Hawkeye Interdorm Cambus offers stops at the Hawkeye Recreation Fields. Other Cambus routes may stop at the Hawkeye Recreation Fields as well. Check out the Cambus schedule or email us for more information.
Sport Format: Teams will be scheduled for six pool play matches over the course of three weeks (one or two matches each week). Matches cancelled due to inclement weather may be made up if possible. Following pool play, all teams will be placed in a single elimination tournament for their night of play.
Leagues Available: "Open" is the only league available for Sand Volleyball. An "Open" league means there are no gender requirements for teams.
Intramural Membership: Intramural Sports Memberships are not required for Summer 2024 Intramural Sports, however to be eligible, all participants must have a Recreational Services membership. Membership options can be found here.
