Experience

  • HTRC Head Tennis Professional since 2008 coaching all levels of programming
  • Taught tennis for more than 40 years
  • Led USTA Training Center for the District
  • Former Head Tennis Coach at Iowa State University,  Head Tennis Professional at the Ames Raquet and Fitness Center and Graduate Assistant Coach for the Iowa Women’s Tennis Team.
  • Former student of Don Klotz, Jim Houghton, Steven Hought and John Winnie
  • USPTA Elite Certification, USTA High Performance Coaching Program Graduate

Awards

  • 2022 Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union's First Lady Award. The award is given "to a daughter of Iowa – recognizing the million girls of the commonwealth who have carried the tradition and training of a sport into varied and important careers – and for singularly illustrious and most memorable accomplishments.” 
  • 2018 Facility Manager of the Year by United States Professional Tennis Association for the Missouri Valley (Five State Region—Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma)
  • Former number one player at the University of Iowa: Big 10 Sportswoman of the Year for Tennis, Tennis Player of the Decade and Academic Tennis Player of Decade, two-time State of Iowa Singles Champion and one time second place at Iowa City City High, Mixed Doubles State Champion 
  • Member of State of Iowa Tennis Hall of Fame and City High Hall of Fame
