Code of Conduct

Recreational Services is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment that fosters the physical and mental development of our members and guests. The staff will proactively intervene to support an environment where all members and guests can enjoy the facilities and programs free from behaviors that are considered disruptive. Disruptive behavior will be determined by the Recreational Services Staff. All members, guests, and staff are expected to respect the rights of others and to follow all University policies and codes as well as all facility rules and procedures. Appropriate attire should be worn according to the specific activity area. Unauthorized use of membership cards may result in the revocation of member privileges. Because the use of recreational facilities is a privilege, actions that go against the Code of Conduct may result in participant being removed from the building and/or termination of membership by the Recreational Services staff or the University of Iowa Police and a refund will not be issued.

ID Policy

University ID's or Recreational Services issued membership cards must be presented at check-in each time a member accesses a Recreational Services facility. All non-UI student members will have their picture taken when signing up for a membership. Members will be allowed to forget their ID twice per academic session (fall, spring, summer). All subsequent times that a member forgets their ID during the current session, they must pay the Forgotten ID walk-in fee to enter the facility. The Forgotten ID walk-in fee is $5 for the CRWC, Field House, HTRC and Fitness East.

Recreational Services requires a photo ID for anyone 14 and older when purchasing a daily pass or a membership.

Refund Policy

The amount of time used in the membership will be rounded up to the nearest month and then refunds are given based on increments subtracted from the initial membership package.

Examples:

  • If you have purchased a month membership and it has been two weeks, you will not get refunded.
  • If you have purchased a summer membership and it has been one month, you will be charged for a one-month membership and refunded the difference from the summer membership.
  • If you have purchased a yearly membership and it has been six months, you will be charged for six one month memberships and refunded the difference from the yearly membership.

Refunds will be given by check, UBill, or credit card.

Cash refunds will not be issued for any type of refund unless it was for a walk-in within 30 minutes of checking in.

All refunds will be handled at the CRWC, Field House, or HTRC by the Assistant Director of Facility Operations.
