Throughout the year, we offer a variety of special fitness programs and events for different audiences and interests.

Fee-based Fitness Programs

These classes differ from our group exercise classes because you sign up for a four or five-week session and are guaranteed a spot in the class. The instructors are trained in the program and have the credentials to teach the specialty class.  The instructors are professional and dedicated and will motivate you to reach your fitness goals and we offer multiple class times for each program to work with your schedule. These classes are guaranteed to keep your workouts fresh and your motivation high. No refunds after the first class.  As of May 12, you must be a Recreational Services Member to purchase and participant in specialty programs.

Special events from our fitness team include Zumba Parties, USA Weightlifting Certification courses, and Outdoor Yoga classes. 


We offer workshops and instructional classes to introduce members to our facilities and equipment and teach new workout programs, skills, and techniques. Past workshops include Women and Weightlifting, Fitness demos, and programs for International students.

The purpose of this course is to take all participants through complete technical progressions of the Snatch, Clean & Jerk, and all associated movements including Power Snatch, Power Clean, Power Jerk, Squat variations, and pulling progressions. Participants will gain base line knowledge about the programming of training and technical rules. The course includes theoretical classroom, and practical hands-on portions. It is suitable for Strength & Conditioning /Sports Performance, Health & Fitness and beginning level competitive Weightlifting Coaches alike.

Root to Rise Yoga Workshop Series

Master the foundations of yoga with this four workshop series that will provide hands-on and broken-down training of various yoga foundations. Participants can attend a single workshop or sign up for the whole, four workshop series. All skill levels are welcome!
