Event Information: We know that our students want more softball, and a chance to play in the spring. While we can't schedule a full league due to unreliable weather in the spring semester, and conflicts with the Iowa Softball team's schedule, we will be holding a weekend tournament! Register for your chance to come on out, play some spring softball, and have a shot at winning an Intramural Champion T-shirt. Whether you win or not, our tournament will be a good time!
Registration Information: Pre-registration begins on Monday, Aug. 21 at 8 a.m. During Pre-Registration, captains can start their teams, and begin sending invitations to teammates to build the roster. Once official registration opens on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 8 a.m., teams that meet the minimum player requirements (eight players on the team roster) can move to the "Tournament" division to confirm/complete their registration before registration closes on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Finalizing registration cannot be done until minimum player requirements have been met. Sport Date and Time: The Weekend Softball Tournament will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14. Games each day could begin as early as 9 a.m., and last throughout the day, depending on the number of teams registered. If mornings are not needed, games will primarily be played in the afternoons each day.
Leagues Available: Open is the only league available for the Weekend Softball Tournament. An "Open" league means there are no gender requirements for team composition.
Sport Location: The tournament will take place at the Hawkeye Softball Complex. Information on how to get to the Hawkeye Softball Complex from main campus can be found here.
Sport Format: Teams will be entered into a single elimination tournament with a consolation bracket. If you lose your first game, you will move to the consolation bracket to continue competing, although you cannot come back to win the championship. Each team is guaranteed two scheduled games.
Intramural Membership: Participants must have a 2023-2024 Fall and Spring Membership, a Spring 2024 Semester Membership, or a 2023-2024 Tournament Pass to participate. Memberships can be purchased here, or participants without memberships will be prompted to purchase one upon registering.
