Wildlife Camps | Recreational Services
University of Iowa

The University of Iowa Wildlife Camps began in the summer of 1991 with a mission to awaken an awareness and appreciation of the natural world in our campers, as well as to inspire campers to action through developing a sound “land ethic” (in the words of Aldo Leopold, a native Iowan).  We carry out this mission through hands– on activities, because each of the staff realizes that it was through first–hand experiences that our excitement and care for wildlife and natural ecosystems was kindled. We take our mission seriously, and have a lot of fun doing it!
