Aquatics

Recreational Services offers a variety of Aquatics programs at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center and the Field House. Special Events include all Iowa Hawkeye Swimming and Diving competitions (including the 2015 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships), age-group and club swimming meets, diving competitions, water polo, Division of Student Life activities, and private party events.

Fitness

Our fitness team works hard all year to help the University of Iowa community reach their goals! Throughout the year, we offer a variety of special fitness programs and events for different audiences with different interests. These events include, but are not limited to, Zumba Parties, USA Weightlifting Certification courses, and Outdoor Yoga classes. Click here to see more. 

Outdoors

Throughout the year, there are many Special Events put on by the Outdoors Program. The Outdoors program provides opportunities for members of the University of Iowa and surrounding communities to introduce themselves to a variety of outdoor activities. Through a focus on adventure-based learning, the aim is to educate participants with the necessary technical skills, as well as the ethical guidance, to ensure these activities are carried out with a maximum level of concern for the participants and the environment. 

Rowing

The Rowing program is designed to teach and promote the sport of rowing on campus, in the Iowa City and surrounding areas. Programs are designed for every skill level, from beginner to advanced. Along with normal programs, there are different special events throughout the year, like the popular Iowa Indoor Rowing Challenge

Sport Programs

The University of Iowa Sports Program offers an extensive range of sport leagues, tournaments, and events for University of Iowa students, faculty and staff. Intramural Sports are designed for the competitive and experienced athlete, as well as those looking to participate in a fun activity or wanting to try a new sport. Tennis

The Recreational Services tennis program provides a variety of options for adults and juniors of all ability levels. Clinic programs are grouped by age and ability and cover skills such as stroke production and movement as well as singles and doubles strategy. Camps take place in the summer, during Winter Break, and during Spring Break and allow players to develop skills, play games, and compete. Special events are hosted throughout the year, click here to find out more. 

Miscellaneous

Recreational Services provides an array of Special Events catering to different interests throughout the year. These events may include food, prizes, or entertainment! Some events are open walk-ins, others require registration sign ups. Some events are geared specifically to University of Iowa students, while others are open to the public, as well. Each event focuses on different activities, so something is sure to peak your interest!
