Help us soar!

Share in the rewards of the Iowa Raptor Project and our goal to inspire awareness, appreciation and action on behalf of Iowa’s raptors. Our educational programs and research can be greatly enhanced by your contribution to the Macbride Nature Recreation Area fund. As a jointly sponsored program of the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College, the Iowa Raptor Project relies on annual donations and sponsorships from our friends. For your contribution (action) you will receive our quarterly e- newsletter that aims to inspire greater awareness and appreciation for our native raptors.

Sponsorships and Adoptions

Many schools and organizations have adopted one of our raptors as a means of supporting our important research and environmental education programs. For a minimum donation of $125 annually an individual or an organization can adopt a hawk, owl, eagle, falcon, or vulture. In return, you receive a framed photo of the adopted bird and a certificate of appreciation. You may also request a private tour.

Please complete the adoption through the University of Iowa Foundation. Call the Iowa Raptor Project at 319-624-7178 or email Shawn Hawks to let us know you have adopted one of our raptors and/or to schedule a tour.  See a list of adoptable raptors here.  Thank you for your consideration!
