Junior Tennis Camp Parent Letter | Recreational Services
University of Iowa

We are looking forward to our tennis programming! Please read the following information prior to attending class or if you would like further details about our classes. We will not be sending out a conformation letter prior to you attending camp.

Site

The Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex is located at 2820 Prairie Meadow Drive in Iowa City and was recently named the 2018 FACILITY OF THE YEAR for the state of Iowa! We are just down the street from the UI Hall of Fame, as well as UI Sports Medicine on the west edge of campus. We have 12 outdoor and 8 indoor courts. Six of our indoor courts have PlaySight, a state of the art smart court system for training and match play.

About our Junior Tennis Classes

Our Junior Classes provide a fun, challenging, and positive environment for the kids while learning a sport for a lifetime! The kids will be provided stroke and strategy instruction, fun drills, games, rules of tennis, and more! Each session will mix up the content to keep it fresh for those kids attending camp multiple times. The camps are designed for kids new to the game, as well as those who have played a couple tournaments (some kids cannot rally yet and others are playing points - all are welcome). Students will be divided into groups according to level of play. We offer Academy Tennis Camps for kids who are playing full court matches and are at least 10 years old. Tennis Coordinator approval is required for first time Academy participants.
