2017 Table Tennis Participant Guide

Table Tennis Sport Rules
Make sure you know the rules for Intramural Table Tennis. The complete Table Tennis rules can be found here. Also be sure to check out the information form here for important sport information.

Only University of Iowa students, faculty, staff and affiliates that have purchased an Intramural Sports membership may participate in Intramural Table Tennis. To learn how to purchase a membership, click here. Doubles team captains must make sure that all members of their teams are eligible. Intramural Sports Eligibility rules and regulations can be found here.

ID Policy
All participants must check-in with a University or government-issued photo ID. More information about our ID policy can be found here.

Any players or teams that do not show up for their scheduled matches will be charged a Forfeit Fine of $25.00. The fine will be charged to the individual or team captain’s U-Bill. Learn more about the Forfeit Fine policy, and how to avoid a forfeit by defaulting, by clicking here.
Registration takes place through Click here for specific instructions on how to register your team, and doubles captains, make sure to pass it along to your teammate so he/she can join your team roster quickly and easily. Once registration is complete, the tournament bracket will be posted on

Roster Management
Participants must follow roster addition and removal policies. Learn more about these policies, including how to drop a player from your team by clicking here.

Match Location
Matches will be played at the Field House in Room S515.

Friday Night Series
Intramural Sports hosts a Friday Night Series of events throughout the year. You can participate in one or all. Click here for more information on the Intramural Sports Friday Night Series.

Intramural Sports Points Championship presented by Coach's Corner
Each year, Intramural Sports crowns Points Champions in Men’s, Women’s, Fraternity, Sorority, and Co-Rec. All you have to do to compete is play multiple Intramural Sports, and keep the same team name throughout all sports. More information on this awesome competition can be found here.

Registration Requirements
To complete your registration, make sure you have the following done by the registration deadline:

  • Name your Team (Team Name Must be Appropriate). If you are playing for points in the Intramural Sports Points Championship presented by Coach's Corner, use your organization name. For Singles, if you aren’t playing for points in the Intramural Sports Points Championship presented by Coach's Corner, you can use your name.
  • Get the Required Minimum Number of Players on Your Roster (Doubles Only)
