2018 Mini-Golf Rules

Rule 1: Facility

  1. All rounds will be played at Colonial Lanes. Alcohol and tobacco use is not permitted while participating in an Intramural event.

Rule 2: Player Eligibility

  1. All Intramural Sports eligibility rules apply. Please check the Intramural Sports Rules and Regulations carefully.
  2. All players must check-in with their University of Iowa or government-issued photo ID cards with the supervisor prior to participating.

Rule 3: Equipment

  1. Putters and balls will be provided on location. Participants may bring their own putters.

Rule 4: Ground Rules

  1. Teams will be comprised of two people. The two scores will be combined to determine the team score.
  2. If the ball comes to rest next to a permanent structure such as a wall or railing, it may be moved one club head away from that structure.
  3. Hole #18 will be played last by all teams, regardless of shotgun start hole. There is a maximum score of five per player on No. 18.
  4. The team with the lowest combined score will be the tournament champion.
  5. In the event of a tie score between two teams, the tiebreaker will be a card back from hole #18 and continuing backwards.
  6. All scores must be recorded on scorecards and turned in to the Intramural Supervisor. Teams will keep score for the other team in their foursome. One team member must sign the opposing team’s scorecard to ensure accurate scoring.
  7. Points for the Intramural Sports Points Championship presented by Coach's Corner will be awarded to each participating team. Consult the Intramural Sports Points Championship presented by Coach's Corner Point Allotment Guide for these point scales.
  8. In order to receive Co-Rec points for the Intramural Sports Points Championship presented by Coach's Corner, a team must be signed-in and participating as one male and one female. In order to receive the Women’s points, teams must be comprised of two females. 
  9. In the event of the ball going out-of-bounds a one stroke penalty will be assessed and the ball will be played from the point at which it went out-of-bounds.   
  10. All other playing rules will be stated on the scorecard at Colonial Lanes.
