Dodgeball - Friday Night Series Important Information

  1. To participate in Intramural Sports, a UI Student, Faculty, Staff or Affiliate must purchase an Intramural Sports Membership. This $20.00/semester membership allows you to participate in almost any Intramural sport/event that semester. There is no cost to register a team, but team members must purchase the Intramural Sports Membership before joining/creating a team.
  2. There is no limit to the size of a team’s roster. However, all teams must have at least three players to complete registration and to participate. Three players per team will be on the court at one time.
  3. Before the start of the tournament, all players must be on the roster and present a valid UI or government-issued photo ID to participate.
  4. Each team is guaranteed two matches. There will be a consolation bracket, but teams that lose their first round matches will not be able to come through to win the championship like in a double elimination bracket.
  5. A team that forfeits a scheduled game will be charged a $50.00 Forfeit Fine to the team captain’s U-Bill.
  6. Matches are self-officiated. All participants are expected to know the Dodgeball - Friday Night Series rules.
  7. Sportsmanship is a priority of the Intramural Sports Program at The University of Iowa. Teams exhibiting poor sportsmanship will be removed from the tournament. More information on sportsmanship can be found in the Intramural Sports Rules and Regulations.
  8. Each competing organization is allowed only one team entry to accumulate points in the Intramural Sports Points Championship presented by Coach's Corner, but there is no maximum on the amount of teams that can register for an organization. The top finishing team for each organization will be counted towards the point total. Teams must designate their organization affiliations before the event begins. To receive Co-Rec points, each team must have at least one male and one female signed-in and participating for the team at all times.
  9. Want to work for Intramural Sports? We work around classes and other conflicts with flexible scheduling, and you can still play Intramural Sports. To find out how to become an official, visit our Becoming an Official webpage!
