Important Information

  1. To participate in Intramural Sports, a UI Student, Faculty, Staff or Affiliate must purchase an Intramural Sports Membership. Information on how to purchase a membership can be found here. This $20.00/semester membership allows you to participate in almost any Intramural sport/event that semester.
  2. Before the event all players must present a valid UI ID or government issued photo ID participate.
  3. Champions of the 3-Point Shootout will be invited to compete in the State of Iowa 3-Point Shooting Championship against other shooters from Drake, UNI, and Iowa State.
  4. Each shooter will have 60 seconds to shoot five balls from each of the five racks positioned around the 3-point line. One rack will be positioned at the top of the key, one on each wing, and one on each baseline.
  5. Each shooter may begin from either corner of the court.
  6. The clock will start upon the shooter's first release.
  7. The first four balls on each rack are worth one point, and the fifth ball is worth two points. A shooter must have both feet behind the 3-point line when each ball is released.
  8. A shooter's total score is determined by adding up the total points earned for all baskets made.
  9. Each individual can represent a team/organization to compete in the year-long Intramural Sports Points Championship presented by Coach's Corner for a chance to win awesome prizes. For details on the Intramural Sports Points Championship presented by Coach's Corner, click here.
  10. Each competing organization is allowed only two entries to accumulate points in the Intramural Sports Points Championship presented by Coach’s Corner, but there is no maximum on the amount of participants that can register for an organization. The top two finishers for each organization will be counted towards the point total. Individuals must designate their team affiliations before the event begins.
