Intro to Olympic Weightlifting

Interested in a workout that promotes strength and higher jumps while utilizing all major muscle groups? Try Olympic Weightlifting! In this four week session, participants will learn proper warm-up, form, technique, and cool down for the two basic Olympic Lifts: clean and jerk, and snatch. This workout also includes accessory exercises, plyometric drills, and progression lifts taught in detail. Participants will learn about lifting safety on the platforms. In the last week, participants will learn how to implement the movements into their exercise routines. Although it is beneficial to attend the “Intro to Powerlifting” session prior to this session, it is not necessary.


This program will be held at the Field House Olympic Weightlifting Room
