Why does the CRWC need to be closed for this event?

In order to host the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships, we need space for about 300 athletes, their coaches and trainers, spectators, and several media outlets including ESPN. Many of our fitness areas and rooms will be converted into spaces needed to host this event. Allowing members to work out would not be feasible, nor would space be available. We also need to close the building to ensure proper security for the event.

Why did University of Iowa decided to host this event?

The University of Iowa was actually selected to host!  This is a big honor for the University of Iowa as well as the city of Iowa City/Coralville area to be able to highlight our facilities and what we have to offer. The University does not get the opportunity to host this event often – the selection process is very competitive. The University is proud and fortunate to have a facility capable of hosting this prestigious event, which is arguably the fastest meet in the world.

Who will be participating at the event?

235 nationally ranked collegiate swimmers and 35 nationally ranked collegiate divers from across the nation.
