Sport Description

Get outside and enjoy the spring time playing Disc Golf! Throw a light disc from a designated starting point into a basket in as few throws as possible. It’s not as easy as it sounds, but it is a ton of fun! You must avoid trees, bushes, and don’t forget that this basket will be a few hundred feet away from you. It’s a great way to spend time outside, and have a friendly competition amongst your friends. So come play a round of Disc Golf for a chance to win an Intramural Champion T-shirt!

Important Information

  1. To participate in Intramural Sports, a UI Student, Faculty, Staff or Affiliate must purchase an Intramural Sports Membership. This $20.00/semester membership allows you to participate in almost any Intramural sport/event that semester. There is no cost to register a team, but team members must purchase the Intramural Sports Membership before joining/creating a team. Directions on how to purchase an Intramural Sports Membership can be found here.
  2. Teams must have two players on the roster to complete registration.
  3. Before the round, all players must present a valid UI or government-issued photo ID to participate.
  4. Each team of two participants will be sent onto the course with another team, and will keep scores for both its own team and the opposing team.
  5. The release of fairway throws must be made with the foot closest to the hole on or behind the lie. A pivot foot is allowed from first picking up of the disc in-play.
  6. A run-up and throw is not allowed—the pivot foot must remain stationary until after the throw is made.
  7. A throw that lands out-of-bounds must be played from the point where the disc went out-of-bounds. Water hazards and public roads are always out-of-bounds while participating in the event.
  8. Any forfeit/no-show will result in a Forfeit Fine of $25.00. This fine is charged to the University Bill of the team captain.
  9. In order to accumulate points in the Coach's Corner Intramural Sports Points Championship, Co-Rec teams must have one male and one female signed-in and participating throughout the event. For Men's and Women's, the team must be comprised entirely of Men or Women to receive points.
  10. Each competing organization is allowed only two team entries to accumulate points in the Coach’s Corner Intramural Sports Points Championship, but there is no maximum on the amount of teams that can register for an organization. The top two finishing teams for each organization will be counted towards the point total. Teams must designate their organization affiliations before the event begins.
  11. Want to play but don't have a team? You can join as a Free Agent on if you have paid the Intramural Sports Membership Fee, or you can join our Free Agent Group on Facebook to connect with other people looking for more players to form a team. Listing yourself as a Free Agent does not guarantee you will be on a team.
