Wenbo has been with Recreational Services about a year and a half now and has tackled 3 different positions with us while going to school. We are so thankful to have him on staff! #recservfam

Position: Lifetime Leisure Skills assistant, Climbing Wall Staff, Outdoor Rental Center Staff

Year/Major: I am a senior majoring in Mathematics and Statistics.

Hometown: Xi’an, China

How long have you worked for us?: This is my third semester working at Rec Services.

What have you learned from working here?: From working at Rec Services, I have learned leadership skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills and many other skills. Most importantly, working here gives me the opportunity to keep practicing and enhance my skills, also it inspired me to create International Student Outdoor Recreation Association.

Something interesting about yourself: I love to cook.

What do you do in your spare time?: I like to go hiking with my friends and we go snowboarding during winter time.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about working at the Lifetime Leisure Skills Classes?: They are really fun classes taught by amazing instructors, why not enjoy a weekend outside to make some new friends and get a college credit for it! This is also why I took nine of those before I became an assistant, make sure check out class code ‘LLS’ when you register for next semester!

Any plans for after graduation?: After graduation, I am planning to go Australia to study secondary education and become a math teacher in the future.

If you could eat any food every day for the rest of your life without any health consequences, what would it be?: Watermelon

What Wenbo's supervisor has to say about him: Wenbo has worked with our LLS and Climbing Wall programs since 2015 and has contributed so much to our ever-growing community! His initiative, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for bringing people together are the things that impress me most about him. Not only is Wenbo a leader within Recreational Services, he is a leader across campus as well. As a founding member of the International Student Outdoor Recreation Association (ISORA), Wenbo has proven himself a bridge-builder by bringing together International and American students for shared experiences and exploration through outdoor adventures! We will miss him greatly when he graduates this semester, but are thankful for everything he’s done for our programs!
