Position: Swim Instructor

Year/Major: Freshman studying Health & Human Physiology/Pre-Med with a Spanish Minor

Hometown: DeWitt, IA.

How long have you worked for us?: This is my second semester

What have you learned from working here?: While working at the CRWC, I have learned a variety of work related skills such as communication and responsibility, but also I have learned more about other amenities and opportunities the CRWC has to offer!

What is something interesting about yourself?: I have completed two half marathons and one of my goals for 2019 is to run my first full marathon!

What do you like to do in your spare time?: In my free time I enjoy running, reading, being involved in Dance Marathon, and volunteering in the Cancer In-Patient unit at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about working in your position?: I wish everyone knew that not all of our job is done in the water. There are numerous things done behind the scenes, including lesson planning and creating report cards to prepare for proper instruction. Along with that, we do not just teach our participants and call it a day. We also work to build relationships with them as well!

Do you have plans for after graduation?: If everything goes as planned, I hop to attend medical school followed by residency to be either an OB/GYN or a Pediatrician!

If you could eat any food for the rest of your life without any health consequences, what would it be?: Sausage Pizza
