Position: Lifeguard and Event Technician

Year/Major: I'm a 5th Year majoring in Interdepartmental Business

Hometown: Oak Park, IL

How long have you worked for us?: I have been working for Rec Services for almost 4 years now!

What have you learned from working here?: I've learned a lot about communication and time management from working with Rec Services.

Something interesting about yourself: I've played club water polo at Iowa for 5 years.

What do you do in your spare time?: Hang with my two super cute kitties!

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about working as a Lifeguard/Event Technician?: That the staff is the best! Seriously, everyone you work with is so fun and definitely make the long meet shifts go by faster.

What are your plans for after graduation?: I plan to move back to Chicago for work and hopefully play in an adult polo league with some friends.

If you could eat any food every day for the rest of your life without any health consequences, what would it be?: Definitely Pineapples.

What Rebecca's Supervisor has to say about her: Rebecca has worked for Recreational Services as a Lifeguard since Fall of 2013 and more recently began working as one of our Equipment Technicians during Special Events. She knows aquatics through and through. I can’t speak highly enough of her, she always has a great attitude, is always thinking of positive ways to improve our programs, and is a genuinely kind and caring person who is always willing to help out! Even with graduation on the horizon she stays focused on her job and is thoughtful in her work. She will be greatly missed after her graduation (along with conversations about her cats (Ed and Nicki) and all animals in general!).
