Position: CRWC Head Lifeguard

Hometown: Rockford, IL

How long have you worked for us?: About two and a half years

What have you learned from working here?: I have learned how to communicate effectively and improve my professional relationships.

What is something interesting about yourself?: I drove about 45 minutes to see the World Series trophy in January 2017 after the Cubs won!

What do you like to do in your spare time?: I enjoy watching baseball and hockey, baking, and in the summer, I love to drive out to Lake Macbride State Park to go hiking!

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about working in your position?: That my job as a Head Lifeguard is really unique and incredible - not only do I have an experience as a student employee, but I also get to experience things as a supervisor, and it changes your perspective when you are in both of those shoes! Not only have I gotten to work with some really incredible people and grown tremendously as a result, I have been able to experience some truly amazing events - such as when we hosted Junior Nationals in December.

Do you have any plans after graduation?: Currently, I want to attend grad school for Public Health, and possibly pursue a further career in aquatics on the health side - such as making policies or working for the American Red Cross.

If you could eat any food every day for the rest of your life without any health consequences, what would it be?: Definitely my dad's famous chocolate chip cookies - including the dough!
