Bryan M. | Recreational Services
The University of Iowa

Position: Personal Trainer

Year/Major: Junior, Exercise Science

Hometown: Sioux Center, IA

How long have you worked for us?: 5 months

What have you learned from working here?: From working as a personal trainer, I have learned how to interact and teach all different types of people. Everyone has different goals, is driven by different things, and responds to different methods of teaching. It takes practice to be able to effectively work with various types of people, but doing so can be a lot of fun and very rewarding.

What is something interesting about yourself?: I have a webbed toe.

What do you like to do in your spare time?: Lift, play basketball, hunt, fish, and cook (especially sushi)

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about working in your position?: Personal trainers at the University of Iowa love what they do and genuinely care about the well-being of the community. Even if you aren't taking lessons from a personal trainer they would love to answer any questions you have about exercise and fitness.

If you could eat any food every day for the rest of your life without any health consequences, what would it be?: A warm cookie with ice cream.
