Position: Personal Trainer

Hometown: Buffalo Grove, IL

How long have you worked for us?: 5 years

What have you learned from working here?: I've learned that you should always chase your passion in life. The journey in chasing your passion is much more fulfilling to me than chasing a big city, big paycheck, etc. I've been lucky to be surrounded by some great people here.

What is something interesting about yourself?: Something interesting about myself is that I did not always have a passion for health and fitness. I did not start working our until I was 19 years old. In being a personal trainer, most people believe it has always been a part of my life.

What do you like to do in your spare time?: In my spare time I enjoy challenging my mind by practicing mindfulness and challenging my body competing in Olympic Weightlifting (snatch/clean and jerk).

What is one thing you wish everyone knew about working in your position?: The one thing that I wish people knew about my position is that everyone starts somewhere. Regardless of where people are at in life, there is never a "right" time to start taking the steps to a healthy lifestyle. Vulnerability is a key part in inspiring change.

If you could eat any food every day for the rest of your life without any health consequences, what would it be?: If I could eat any food for the rest of my life it would definitely be sushi.

What Alex's supervisor says about him: "Not only is Alex an amazing and dependable employee and personal trainer, but he is a wonderful human being that treats everyone with care and exudes kindness. Alex, from the start, works to understand his clients as people first so that he can help create an effective and successful plan from the beginning of the client's fitness journey. It is obvious that Alex's main goal is to help his clients and he will go above and beyond to work with them so they are able to experience success and positivity in their lives and in the gym. Alex is a genuine, caring coach and establishing strong, lasting relationships with his clients is just one of his many talents. We are beyond blessed to have him on our team." -Angela Charsha-Harney, Assistant Director, Fitness and Wellness
