Function

Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and on-boarding of student employees.  

Responsibilities

  • Assist with employment paperwork, including completion of I-9’s.
  • Initiate appointment, change of status, and termination transactions in HRIS.
  • Track performance reviews to assure completion.
  • Maintain confidential electronic personnel records.
  • Advertise and maintain current job openings by posting and updating as needed and tracking such changes.
  • Respond daily to applicants who are seeking employment.
  • Promptly respond to supervisor and staff inquiries.
  • Assist with scanning documents and other clerical tasks.
  • Represent UI Recreational Services by participating in recruitment activities as needed.
  • Exhibit behavior and appearance expected of a professional and respect confidential information.
  • Conduct a short orientation for new employees
  • Track and analyze report data, follow up if necessary

Qualifications

  • Registered UI student preferably enrolled in Human Resources/Business. 
  • Must be able to make a one-year commitment (April/May to May of the following year); preferably blocks of time Monday-Friday between 8am and 5pm. 
  • Must be in sophomore standing or above
  • Demonstrated professionalism, organization and communication/customer service skills necessary. 
  • Experience with computer systems, preferably Microsoft Office. 
  • Previous experience in an office or related work environment. 
  • Experience in a leadership capacity is desirable.
  • Background Check completed upon hire.
