Rate of pay:     $9.60/hour (starting wage)

Function

To assist in the day to day management of the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center (CRWC) for the benefit of the members and the university community.  This position requires a mature individual with good communication and leadership skills. 

Responsibilities

  • Enforces facility policies and procedures (accessibility issues, rules of activity).
  • Count facility participants.
  • Oversee rotation of Facility Attendants to different work areas (3rd floor, 2nd floor, and equipment desk
  • Carries out security measures (proper opening and closing duties, accountability for building keys, money handling etc.).
  • Responds to all building emergencies (Accidents/Injuries, Inclement Weather, etc)
  • Assist in the training, supervision and evaluation of Student Facility Attendants.
  • Executes the set-up of activity areas for variety of internal & external groups (includes Meeting Rooms, Classrooms).
  • Provides support for special events, as needed.
  • Ensures outstanding customer service.
  • Works cooperatively with other area of the department to achieve established goals.
  • Promotes a safe, clean, functional and marketable facility.
  • Performs other work as assigned.

Qualfications

  • Outstanding customer service skills; competent computer and audio-visual skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations.
  • Mandatory attendance at training meetings.
  • Ability to use independent judgment when needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to accommodate a variable work schedule that may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays & breaks (work 2 of the 3 breaks).  Weekends include working 1 football game per season.
  • One year of experience working at Recreational Services is preferred.

Training/Certification Requirements

  • Complete FERPA, Credit Card, Security Awareness, Cash Handling and Bloodborne Pathogens Training.
  • Certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED or ability to obtain.
